PAOLI, PA. — Services for John A. Lord Jr., 36, Paoli, were held Friday at the Daylesford Abbey here.
Mr. Lord died Monday, April 17, 1995, at his home.
He was was born Dec. 3, 1959, in Chestnut Hill, the son of John A. Lord Sr. and Patricia Wenzel Lord.
He was a 1977 graduate of Conestoga High School and a 1982 graduate of Pennsylvania State University, where he was involved in campus politics and wrote for the Daily Collegian. He was a candidate for an advanced degree at the University of Pennsylvania Fels Center of Government.
Mr. Lord was secretary to the Pennsylvania Board of Pardons in Harrisburg. He was appointed to the Board of Pardons by former Lt. Gov. Mark Singel, for whom he served as a legislative aid from 1988 to 1991. He also held several positions in the state Democratic Party. At age 19, he became the youngest person in Pennsylvania to run for the state assembly.
Survivors include his mother; a brother, Joseph, Valley Forge; and three sisters, Tricia Lord Miller, Dallas, Sally Lord Blann, Lawrence, Kan., and Margaret Lord Reed, Kimberton.
The family suggests memorials to the Daemion House, Box 77, Berwyn 19312. Alleva Funeral Home, Paoli, was in charge of arrangements.
