Graveside services for Clyde Alfred Babb, 88, Lawrence, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Babb died Tuesday, April 25, 1995, at Colonial Manor Nursing Home.

He was born Jan. 3, 1907, in Wallace County, the son of James Robert and Viola Thompson Babb.

A Jewell High School graduate, he earned a bachelor's degree in 1927 from Kansas University. He was an assistant to the dean of continuing education at KU from July 18, 1949, until his retirement on June 30, 1973.

He was in the U.S. Army from 1925 to 1947, serving in World War II and Korea and retiring as a lieutenant colonel.

Mr. Babb was a Past Grand of the Oddfellows Lodge, and a member of the American Legion, Retired Officers Assn., 35th Division of the U.S. Army and KU Alumni Association.

He married Una Elizabeth Alexander on June 7, 1930, in Lawrence. She died July 11, 1993.

Survivors include a sister, Merle Price, Salina.

Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. today at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, where the family will meet with friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. today.

The family suggests memorials to Douglas County Senior Services. They may be sent in care of the funeral home.
