Services for Ethel C. Courtney, 91, Lawrence, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary with the Rev. Dick Todd officiating. Private graveside services will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Courtney died Sunday, April 23, 1995, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
She was born July 24, 1903, in Cameron, Mo.
Mrs. Courtney moved from Hamilton, Mo., to Lawrence in 1924. She worked as a sales clerk for J.C. Penney Co. Inc., Hamilton's Dress Shop and Carter's Stationary, all in Lawrence. She was a member of West Side Presbyterian Church.
She married Harry Courtney on July 15, 1921, in Cameron, Mo. He died June 21, 1985.
Survivors include a daughter, Jean Courtney Anderson, Dallas; a son, Charles E. Courtney, Sacramento, Calif.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Friends may call after 6 p.m. today at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
The family suggests memorials to West Side Presbyterian Church. They may be sent in care of the mortuary.
