A 49-year-old Eudora man was taken by helicopter to a Topeka hospital after falling this morning inside the KPL electric power plant, just north of Lawrence.
Robert "Sonny" Albright, a foreman with Insco Industries Inc. of Lenexa, was being evaluated late this morning at Stormont-Vail Regional Medical Center. Albright suffered a head injury.
Albright fell about 30 feet while working in the power plant, a Douglas County sheriff's spokeswoman said.
He was working on one of four contracting crews that are replacing insulation on the interior pipes of the power plant, a spokeswoman for KPL said.
Authorities late this morning still were investigating how Albright fell.
The KPL spokeswoman said Albright was in "very serious" condition when he was taken from the site.
