An 18-year-old man who was injured early Saturday in a one-vehicle accident in Eudora died Sunday at the Kansas University Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan.
Michael J. Notestine, 18 Ithica Ct., Eudora, died at 1:53 p.m. Sunday after being removed from life support, the Douglas County Sheriff's Department said this morning.
Notestine was injured shortly after 3:30 a.m. Saturday when the car he was driving went out of control and crashed into a tree at 10th and Church streets.
A passenger in the vehicle, Robyn Keiter, Eudora, was treated at Lawrence Memorial Hospital and released.
Judy Osburn, operations coordinator for the sheriff's department, said the cause of the accident remained under investigation this morning. She said deputies plan to interview Keiter tonight.
The sheriff's accident report, including preliminary results from an autopsy conducted Sunday by Dr. Jill Gould, Douglas County coroner, was unavailable this morning.
