BAKER UNIVERSITY SETS ANNUAL HONORS PROGRAM

A host of faculty, students and friends of Baker University will be honored Thursday at the university's Honors and Endowment Convocation.

Following is a list of awards to be presented at the event, scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, Baldwin:

  • Distinguished Scholarship Award: Stuart Dorsey, professor of business and economics, chair of the department of business and finance.
  • Distinguished Faculty Award and Board of High Education and Ministry Exemplary Teacher Award: Gary Giachino, professor of chemistry.
  • Ester E. Edwards Graduate Scholarship: Peggy Harris, assistant professor of education.
  • School of Nursing Outstanding Faculty Service Award: Kay Osinski, assistant professor and acting assistant dean of the school.
  • School of Professional and Graduate Studies Outstanding Faculty Service Award in Liberal Arts: Richard Mitchell, adjunct professor of liberal arts.
  • Outstanding Faculty Service Award in Business Management: Douglas Copeland, adjunct professor of business and economics.

The event also will include recognition of members of the Pulliam Endowment Circle, honoring people who have donated to the university.
