— Services for Lawrence B. Bassett, 53, Oskaloosa, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Barnett Funeral Home here, with the Rev. Wayne Feuerbacher officiating. Private inurnment will be in Pleasant View Cemetery at a later date.

Mr. Bassett died Monday, April 10, 1995, at the Kansas University Medical Center, Kansas City, Kan.

He was born July 10, 1941, in Aurora, Colo., the son of Ronald U. and Rutholea Albiston Bassett. He had lived in Oskaloosa since 1978, after he moved from Olathe. He was a forklift operator for Associated Wholesale Grocers Co. in Kansas City, Kan., for 23 years. He retired for medical reasons in 1989.

He was a member of the Teamsters Union Local No. 955 in Kansas City, Mo.; the Oskaloosa Lions Club; the Oskaloosa Ball Assn.; and the Oskaloosa High School Booster Club.

He married L. Janelle Terry on Dec. 28, 1963, in Edna, Tex. She survives at the home.

Other survivors include his mother, Rutholea Track, Solomon; his father, of Conroe, Tex.; two sons, Bruce, Leavenworth, and Brian, Topeka; a daughter, Lynda Johnson, Bennington; a sister, Sharon Nelson, Solomon; and two grandchildren.

Friends may call from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

The family suggests memorials to the American Diabetes Assn. or Oskaloosa United Methodist Church.
