Services for Katherine Marie Bicknell, 75, Topeka, will be at 9 a.m. Friday at Penwell-Gabel Chapel, 1321 S.W. 10th Avenue, Topeka, with the Rev. Ron Goudman officiating. Burial will be in Topeka Cemetery.
Mrs. Bicknell died Monday, Sept. 5, 1994, at a Topeka nursing center.
She was born March 4, 1919, in Topeka, the daughter of Harry J. and Ebba M. Bostrum Johnson. She was raised and attended public school in Topeka. She was a dump truck driver with her husband and helped build the Kansas Turnpike in the 1950s. She later worked as an attendant at a Topeka laundry.
She married John J. Bicknell on Dec. 21, 1936, in Lawrence. He died in 1990. A son, John H. Bicknell, died in 1987.
Survivors include three daughters, Janice Criss Doores, Lawrence, and Margaret M. Carey and Kathy M. Sheley, both of Topeka; a sister, Margaret M. Price, Topeka; a brother, Raymond D. Johnson, Topeka; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Friends may call after 10 a.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will meet with them from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today.
