Graveside services for Charmaine Asher-Wiley, 64, Prairie Village, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Memorial Park Cemetery. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Country Club Christian Church, Kansas City, Mo.

Mrs. Asher-Wiley died Thursday, Oct. 6, 1994, at Research Medical Center, Kansas City, Mo.

She was born Dec. 21, 1929, in Barbourville, Ky. She had lived in the Kansas City area for 40 years.

Mrs. Asher-Wiley received her bachelor and master of music degrees from the Eastman School of Music and toured extensively as a marimba soloist. She was director and founder of the percussion department at the University of Missouri-Kansas City's Conservatory of Music, where she also was a professor.

She was a member of Country Club Christian Church, Kansas City, Mo. She also was past president of the Missouri Chapter of Percussive Arts Society and chairman of All Orchestral Instruments for the Missouri Music Teachers Assn. She was a member of numerous other professional organizations.

She was married to Russell Wiley, former director of bands at Kansas University. He died Nov. 6, 1991.

Survivors include five stepchildren; a brother, Gearl G. Asher Sr., Oak Ridge, Tenn.; and several stepgrandchildren.

Friends may call from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the Mount Moriah and Freeman Chapel, Kansas City, Mo.
