Two women who had just withdrawn cash from an automated teller machine were robbed at gunpoint Saturday evening by two teen-agers, Lawrence police reported.
Officers reported that the robbery occurred at 9:25 p.m. at a Capitol Federal teller machine at 11th and Vermont.
Police Lt. Mike Reeves said the women had made a withdrawal and were sitting in a car when the teen-agers approached.
One of the teens pointed a pistol at one of the women and demanded cash, Reeves said. The victims gave the armed teen-ager and his companion a handbag and a bookbag containing what Reeves described as a small amount of cash.
The teen-agers then walked away to the south.
Reeves said the victims, whose names were unavailable, described the suspects as black or Hispanic and 14 to 18 years old.
No one was injured in the robbery, Reeves said.
