CENTROPOLIS Services for Pluma Frances Brovont, 89, Centropolis, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, at the Eight-Mile Old German Baptist Brethren Church, West of Centropolis with Elder Alva Riffey and Elder Raymond Kinsley officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, west of Centropolis.
Mrs. Brovont died Tuesday, Nov. 22, 1994, at her home.
She was born March 27, 1905, on the family farm in Douglas County northwest of Centropolis, the daughter of John and Mary Barnhart Edgecomb. She grew up in the area and attended Centennial Rural School. She spent most of her life in the Centropolis area. She resided in Pratt County and later in Michigan, before moving back to the Centropolis area in 1943. She was a homemaker.
She married Ezra Brovont on June 25, 1933, at the home of her parents. They were later divorced.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Ann Jamison, Centropolis, and Gladys Jamison, Pendleton, Ind.; four brothers Raymond Edgecomb, Oceanside, Calif., George Edgecomb, Overbrook, John Edgecomb, Garnett, and Paul Edgecomb, Indiana; two sisters, Florence Crist, Lawrence, and Pearl Flory, Overbrook; four grandsons; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at the Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home in Ottawa, where the family will meet with friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday.
