Lawrence police were searching late Saturday for a teen-ager suspected of robbing a pizza deliver driver at gunpoint.
Police Sgt. George Wheeler said the robbery occurred about 9:35 p.m. Saturday in the 1300 block of New Hampshire, where the driver had gone to deliver a pizza.
Wheeler said the suspect was a white youth in his early teens, wearing a gray, hooded sweatshirt. He said the boy was armed with a pistol, but the driver was not injured.
Cash and two pizza bags were taken, police said. Other details about the robbery were unavailable.
Officers believed the crime was connected with an earlier incident at Kansas University.
KU police reported that at 7:30 p.m., a female student was approached in a parking lot at Gertrude Sellards Pearson Hall, 500 W. 11th, by two teen-agers wearing hooded sweatshirts. The student told police that one of the two displayed what she thought was a pistol and asked whether she had any money.
Police said the student ran to her car and drove away. She was not injured.
