- A Lawrence man has been assigned to the Douglas County Community Corrections program for his involvement in the June robbery of a pizza delivery driver. Calvin Barber, 18, 2527 Morningside Dr., was charged originally with aiding and abetting aggravated robbery. He pleaded guilty in mid-September to an amended charge of attempted robbery. At a hearing last week, District Judge Michael J. Malone sentenced Barber to 19 months in the custody of the secretary of corrections and assigned him to community corrections. The judge gave Barber credit for the 103 days he had already spent in custody and ordered him to pay court costs.
- James C. Robinson, 19, 928 Conn., has been sentenced to 38 months' imprisonment for the June 8 robbery of a pizza delivery driver. Robinson originally was charged with aggravated robbery in connection with the incident. He pleaded no contest in September to a robbery charge. District Judge Michael J. Malone gave Robinson credit for the 144 days he had spent in custody and ordered him to pay court costs.
