Services for Laura D. Ellsworth, 85, Lawrence, are pending and will be announced by Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
Mrs. Ellsworth died Friday, July 29, 1994, at Brandon Woods Health Care Center.
She was born Nov. 1, 1908, in Boby, Poland, the daughter of Andrew and Helen Schoenberg Dombek.
She had been a Lawrence resident for the past four years after moving from Providence, R.I. She had worked as director of volunteers at Stanford University Hospital, Palo Alto, Calif., and at New York Eye and Ear Infirmary, New York City.
She served as a public member of the review committee on human experimentation at Rhode Island Hospital and was a member of the Providence Preservation Society at the Atheneum Library.
Mrs. Ellsworth was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Lawrence, and Alpha Chi Omega and Theta Alpha Phi sororities at Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio.
She married Harold F. Ellsworth on April 30, 1938, in Mt. Lebanon, Pa. He survives, of the home.
Other survivors include a daughter, Anne Wigglesworth, Manhattan; a son, Stephen F. Ellsworth, Lawrence; a sister, Estelle Van Duzer, Niwot, Colo., and five grandchildren.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's Disease Foundation. They may be sent in care of the mortuary.
