Private inurnment services for Dorothy E. Haglund, 79, Lawrence, will be held Thursday in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Miss Haglund died Sunday, April 24, 1994, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
She was born July 25, 1914, in Lawrence, the daughter of Frank Arthur and Agnes Dorothy Wieman Haglund. She grew up in Lawrence and graduated from Liberty Memorial High School in 1931. She earned a bachelor's degree from Baker University in 1935 and a master's degree in history from Kansas University.
She began working for the KU Extension division in 1938 and transferred to the Graduate School in 1940. When the Graduate School was decentralized, she continued as director of graduate admissions and records.
She was named the KU 1982-83 woman staff member of the year and retired as assistant dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences in 1983.
Miss Haglund was a member of Exemplar Preceptor Gamma chapter of Beta Sigma Phi; Delta Delta Delta alumni chapter; Adah chapter of the Order of Eastern Star; KU Retirees Club; Alpha Delta Sigma Honorary Society; Elks Ladies Club; Old West Lawrence Neighborhood Assn.; and the Kansas chapter of the Nature Conservancy.
Survivors include a cousin, a niece and a nephew.
