Burglaries and thefts reported

  • A compact disc player, a radar detector and 30 compact discs were taken between 4:45 a.m. and 7 a.m. Saturday from a vehicle parked in the 800 block of Massachusetts, Lawrence police reported. The items were valued together on a police report at $1,050.

Police reports

  • A 22-year-old Lawrence man reported that an unidentified man pointed a pistol at him and another man struck him in the face with a beer bottle outside a North Lawrence tavern about 2 a.m. Saturday. The man said he was leaving the tavern when the men, who were in a white Jeep Wrangler, started shouting obscenities at him. He started arguing with the men and approached the Jeep. When he reached the Jeep, he said, the driver pointed a handgun at him and a passenger got out and hit him. Police said that when the victim reported the incident about 4 a.m., swelling was visible on his nose. The victim refused medical treatment. Late Saturday, police had identified neither suspect and had made no arrests.
  • Members of a fraternity house in the 1500 block of Tennessee told police that someone damaged two cars and broke a fraternity house window about 3:45 a.m. Saturday while hitting golf balls at the house. Damage was listed on a police report at $2,100. No suspects had been identified late Saturday.
