Burglaries and thefts reported

-- Stereo equipment and a compact disc valued together on a police report at $985 were taken between 10:30 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. Wednesday from a vehicle parked at BB Bristol Terrace at Meadowbrook Apartments.

-- The Douglas County Sheriff's Department reported that a John Deere lawn tractor valued at $2,000 was taken between 7 a.m. Tuesday and 10 a.m. Wednesday from a residence at 1013 E. 1290 Road.

Injury accidents

-- A Lawrence man and a Lawrence woman were taken to Lawrence Memorial Hospital after a two-car accident around 12:25 p.m. Thursday. Police reported that Todd Parker, 21, was southbound on Ousdahl Road when the car he was driving collided with a car driven east on 25th by William Mooney, 16. Mooney failed to stop at a stop sign, police reported. Parker was treated for minor injuries at LMH and released. Chasity Schafer, 18, a passenger in Mooney's car, also was treated for injuries and released. Parker was cited for a seat-belt violation, and Mooney was cited for a stop-sign violation.
