Burglaries and thefts reported

-- Stereo equipment and compact discs valued on a police report at $920 were taken between 8 p.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. Thursday from a vehicle in the 1000 block of Emery, police reported. Also, $300 in damage to the car's dashboard was reported stolen.

Police reports

-- Damon Lee Rogers, 24, 1509 Vt., was charged Thursday with a felony count of aggravated battery after he allegedly injured his girlfriend in a fight early Thursday, police reported. A police spokesman said Rogers brought a 19-year-old woman to Lawrence Memorial Hospital early Thursday and told hospital officials she had been injured in a car accident. The women had bruises in several areas and bite marks, the police spokesman said. Rogers was arrested at the hospital. He was being held on $10,000 bond in the Douglas County Jail today. A preliminary hearing was set for Sept. 13 in Douglas County District Court. The woman was released from LMH today.

-- A West Junior High School student was detained by police after he allegedly threatened a teacher with a pair of scissors about 1 p.m. Thursday at the school, 2700 Harvard. A police spokesman said the student, whose name and age were withheld, was arguing with another student when the teacher intervened. The student allegedly took a pair of scissors and threatened the teacher, who grabbed the scissors out of the boy's hand, a police spokesman said. The student was turned over to juvenile authorities.

Condition reports

-- Matthew and Jason Guthrie, both 6, were listed in fair condition today at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Mo. They were injured in an automobile accident Aug. 24 east of the Douglas-Leavenworth county line.

-- Timothy Manis, 39, Meriden, was listed in serious condition today at St. Francis Hospital in Topeka, where he was taken after being injured in a traffic accident Aug. 23 about one-half mile west of Lecompton.

-- Troy Goff, 24, 809 Maple, was listed in fair condition today at the Kansas University Medical Center, Kansas City, Kan. He was injured in an accident Aug. 14 at 24th and Naismith in Lawrence.

-- Michael Smith, 46, Lawrence, was listed in fair condition today at the Kansas University Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan., with injuries he suffered in a June 21 car accident on Kansas Highway 32.
