Services for Virginia R. McBride, 84, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at First Christian Church, Lawrence, with burial at Oak Hill Cemetery. The Revs. Ron Goodman and Robert W. Freitag will officiate.

Mrs. McBride died Friday, Nov. 26, 1993, at Kansas University Medical Center, Kansas City, Kan. She was born June 7, 1909, in Lincoln, Neb., the daughter of Harry E. and Estelle Bernice Davis Ludwig. She grew up in Lincoln and Oklahoma City, graduating from high school in Lincoln in 1927.

On April 17, 1929, she married Robert Willard McBride in Lincoln. He died in 1971.

Mrs. McBride lived in Chicago before moving to Lawrence in 1965. She was an avid sports fan, a bowler and a cook for Meals on Wheels. She also served on the election board.

A son, Robert L. McBride, died Sept. 26, 1993.

Survivors include a son, Wally McBride, Lawrence, five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to noon Monday at Rumsey Funeral Home, where the family will meet with friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. today.

Memorials are suggested to the Good Samaritan Fund of the Lawrence Presbyterian Manor, sent in care of the funeral home.
