Oskaloosa Services for Dorothy Cashatt, 70, rural Ozawkie, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Barnett Funeral Home, Oskaloosa, with the Rev. Wayne Feuerbacher officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery northwest of Oskaloosa.
Mrs. Cashatt died Monday, Nov. 22, 1993, at her home after a long illness.
She was born May 18, 1923, at Dunavant, the daughter of Howard C. and Caroline E. Sloop Pence. She was a lifelong resident of the Oskaloosa and Ozawkie area and was a 1940 graduate of Winchester High School.
Mrs. Cashatt was a part-time clerk in the Jefferson County register of deeds office. She previously worked as a cook in the cafeteria at Fleming Foods Co., Topeka. She was a member of the Oskaloosa United Methodist Church and a longtime member of the Pleasant View Grange in Ozawkie.
She married Ernest Cashatt on Aug. 11, 1944, in Oskaloosa.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Jane Berry, Tonganoxie; two sons, John Cashatt, Beloit, and James Cashatt, Kansas City, Mo.; a sister, Erma Nyberg, Reno, Nev.; a brother, John Pence, Perry; and five grandchildren.
Friends may call from until 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorials to the Jefferson County Hospice or to the Oskaloosa United Methodist Church, sent in care of the funeral home.
