— Services for Albert Marion Fishburn, 70, St. Joseph, Mo., will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Overbrook United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Overbrook Cemetery.

Mr. Fishburn died Friday, Nov. 12, 1993, at a St. Joseph hospital.

He was born Aug. 12, 1923, at Overbrook, the son of Cecil J. and Allene "Peg" Fishburn. He attended grade school and high school at Overbrook. He graduated from high school in 1941.

During World War II, he served with the Navy in San Diego, Hawaii, Guam and Midway.

He worked for Rudy-Patrick Seed Co. of Hutchinson and Research Seed Co., St. Joseph, from which he retired in 1988.

He lived in Grinnell, Iowa, and Kansas City, Kan., before moving to St. Joseph 23 years ago.

He was a member of Anderson-Raible American Legion Post No. 239 and Ridgeway Lodge No. 62 A.F. & A.M., both of Overbrook, and the U.S. Naval Cryptologic Veterans Assn.

He was a 1949 graduate of the University of Wyoming, where he earned a bachelor's degree in business administration. In college, he was a member of Acacia social fraternity, Alpha Kappa Psi business fraternity, and Theta Alpha Phi, honorary dramatic fraternity.

Survivors include his mother, Allene "Peg" Graf, Overbrook; a stepmother, Nell Fishburn, Longmont, Colo.; three half-brothers; and a half-sister.

Friends may call from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. today at Meierhoffer-Fleeman Funeral Home, St. Joseph, and from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at Greenwood-Roberts Funeral Home, Overbrook.
