Burglaries and thefts reported

-- A word processor, a television set, a videocassette recorder and a compact disc player were among items taken between 9:15 p.m. Friday and 2:45 a.m. Saturday from an apartment in the 2300 block of Murphy, Lawrence police reported. The items were valued together on a police report at $3,780.

Police reports

-- Officers on Saturday reported that an arson had occurred between 9 p.m. and 9:24 p.m. Thursday at a residence in the 1300 block of Rhode Island. A report indicated that a wall of the residence had been burned. No damage was reported, and no further information was available.

Fire calls

-- Lawrence firefighters made two runs to Memorial Stadium on Saturday. Firefighters were called shortly before the 1 p.m. kickoff of the Kansas-Nebraska football game to investigate reports of smoke in an elevator shaft. No smoke was found. During the game, firefighters were called to extinguish a grease fire at a vendor's stand on the south end of the stadium. No one was injured.
