Services for Patricia E. "Pat" Combs, 62, Parsons, will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church of Parsons with the Rev. James Spoon officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Combs died Friday, March 26, 1993, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita after several years of failing health.
She was born Oct. 23, 1930, in Parsons, the daughter of Vere and Agnes Silverwood. She graduated from Parsons High School in 1947 and from William Jewell College in Liberty, Mo., in 1950. She began a career in teaching in Kansas City, Kan., before moving on to Baldwin. She later resumed teaching in Parsons and continued teaching there until she went on disability leave in February 1991.
She was a member of local, state and national levels of the National Education Assn. She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and of the former American Association of University Women group in Parsons. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Parsons.
She married Dick Combs on Oct. 6, 1951, in Parsons. He survives of the home.
Other survivors include two sons, Chris and Kelly, Lawrence; a daughter, Connie Richman, Hutchinson; and four grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to either Operation Bright Torch in Parsons or the Parsons Arboretum, in care of Burris-Carson-Wall Funeral Home.
