A Lawrence man who is accused of vehicular homicide in connection with the death of a Kansas Department of Transportation worker in May made an appearance Monday in Riley County District Court.
During the appearance, a preliminary hearing was scheduled for Aug. 3 for Robert E. Grey, 1908 E. 19th, who is charged with aggravated vehicular homicide in the worker's death.
Grey was arrested May 11 after a truck he allegedly was driving struck Allen Roy Maas, 47, St. George. Maas was a member of a road-repair crew that was working about 35 miles east of Topeka. He was taken to Stormont-Vail Regional Medical Center in Topeka, where he died of head injuries May 17.
