Services for Faye R. Thomas, 93, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Virgil Brady officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Thomas died Monday, June 21, 1993, at her home. She was a longtime resident of Lawrence and was the former assistant secretary for the Kansas University Alumni Association.
She was born June 7, 1900, west of Frankfort in Marshall County, the daughter of Frank and Emma McDonald Gosper. She attended public schools in Marshall County. She was a graduate of Central Business College in Kansas City and received her bachelor's of art degree from Kansas University in 1927. She did graduate studies at the University of Wisconsin.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Lawrence where she was a member of the Reading Group. She was a life member of the Lawrence Flower Club, a member of the Home Demonstration Unit of Douglas County and a life member of the Kansas Retired Teachers Assn.
She was married to Richard Lee Thomas on March 17, 1937, in Lawrence. He died in June 1974.
Survivors include a daughter, Donna Lee Dick, Long Beach, Calif.; a son, Gary Lee Thomas, Lawrence; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
Memorials may be made to the Kansas University Endowment Association and sent in care of the mortuary.
