Burglaries and thefts reported
Stereo equipment and cash valued at an undisclosed amount was reported stolen at 10:52 a.m. Wednesday from Bodine's, 913 N. Second.
Timothy Rowlett, an inmate at the Douglas County Jail, was taken to Lawrence Memorial Hospital at 9:34 p.m. Wednesday after he fell twice, sheriff's officers reported today. A sheriff's report said Rowlett fell and hit his side while getting out of the shower. After he returned to his cell, he became weak and dizzy and fell again next to his bunk. He was treated at LMH, released and brought back to jail.
Jodi Christopherson, 28, Eudora, was treated at Lawrence Memorial Hospital and later released after an accident at 1:26 p.m. Wednesday at 10th and Vermont. Police reported that Christopherson was riding in a car headed west on 10th and driven by Wilbur M. Criss, 78, rural Eudora, when the accident occurred. A police report said Christopherson was injured when the car Criss was driving collided with a pickup truck being driven south on Vermont by James I. Smith Jr., 52, 2513 Maverick. Criss was cited for failing to yield the right of way.
Criminal case proceedings
Eugene Edgerton, 35, 447 Perry, on Tuesday was sentenced to five to 10 years imprisonment on an amended felony count of robbery stemming from a holdup Aug. 21 at Roger's Northside Food Center, 608 N. Second. Edgerton originally was charged with aggravated robbery. He pleaded guilty Nov. 13 to the amended charge.
