A 23-year-old Kansas City, Mo., man has been ordered to stand trial in the Jan. 28 abduction and attempted rape of a 36-year-old Douglas County woman.
After a preliminary hearing that began Wednesday and ended Thursday, District Judge Mike Malone scheduled a trial for May 3.
The woman reported to authorities that the attack occurred after she arrived home from work and surprised two men who were burglarizing her house.
She said a man took her into the house at knifepoint, where she was attacked.
Leavenworth County authorities arrested the man about three miles east of Tonganoxie after finding the car he allegedly drove away from the woman's house.
A 22-year-old Kansas City, Kan., man was later arrested in connection with the incident. A preliminary hearing for the 22-year-old man is scheduled for Wednesday in Douglas County District Court.
Both men are charged with aggravated kidnapping, aggravated criminal sodomy, attempted rape and other felony charges.
