— Services for Thelma Lou Ratliff, 85, Tonganoxie, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Quisenberry Funeral Home here. The Rev. Robert Kasper will officiate. Burial will be in Hubbel Hill Cemetery, Tonganoxie.

Mrs. Ratliff died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 1993, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

She was born Sept. 1, 1908, in St. Joseph, Mo., the daughter of Lewis and Laura Milligan Collins. She graduated from Cottey College in Nevada, Mo., and attended Pittsburg State Teachers College.

She moved in 1932 from Hiawatha to Tonganoxie. She taught elementary school in Tonganoxie many years and co-owned Ratliff Drug Store in Tonganoxie 48 years.

She was a member of the First Congregational Church, P.E.O. Chapter AT, and a 50-year-member of Rinda Chapter No. 82 of the Order of the Eastern Star, all of Tonganoxie. She also was a member of the Toltec Shrine in Topeka.

She married Dean William Ratliff on June 13, 1934, in Excelsior Springs, Mo. He died March 30, 1962.

Survivors include two grandsons.

Friends may call from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to the First Congregational Church or the Tonganoxie Historical Society, sent in care of the funeral home.
