Burglaries and thefts reported

  • An undisclosed amount of cash was taken between 11 p.m. Monday and 6:05 a.m. Tuesday from the Blue Bird Diner, 814 Mass. Police reported that a safe was taken, along with cash from a register drawer. The register also was damaged, police reported. No arrests have been made.
  • Three water pumps and other construction equipment valued at an undisclosed amount were taken between 3 p.m. Nov. 23 and 5:30 a.m. Tuesday from Slabach Construction Co., 900 North Third, police reported.
  • A drill and other construction equipment valued at an undisclosed amount were taken between 6 p.m. Monday and 7 a.m. Tuesday from a construction site at Kasold Drive and Clinton Parkway, police reported. Novle Corp., Topeka, owns the equipment.
  • Stereo equipment valued on a police report at $1,900 was taken between 3:30 p.m. Nov. 17 and 10 p.m. Monday from a vehicle parked in the 1300 block of West Campus Road, police reported.

Police reports

  • Lawrence police recovered a 1990 black Chevrolet Lumina that had been reported stolen recently from Muncie, Ind. The car, valued at $10,000, was found about 9:35 a.m. Tuesday in a parking lot in the 600 block of Schwartz, police reported. No arrests have been made.

Condition reports

  • Michael Smith, Lawrence, remained in fair condition today at the Kansas University Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan., with injuries he suffered in a June 21 car accident on Kansas Highway 32.
