Services for Douglas Paul Guthrie, 31, Linwood, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Lawrence, with Bishop John Trowbridge officiating. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Cemetery in Kansas City, Kan.
Mr. Guthrie died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 1993, as a result of an automobile accident in rural Leavenworth County. He had moved to the area from Alabama three weeks before and formerly had lived in Kearney, Mo.
Mr. Guthrie was born March 30, 1962, in Anchorage, Alaska, the son of Paul and Mary Guthrie.
He was an associate engineer and had worked for Intergraph of Huntsville, Ala., the past five yeas.
He was a softball player and a member in the Intergraph League of Huntsville. He was also a weight lifter and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints of Lawrence.
Mr. Guthrie married Diane Martin on Feb. 14, 1985, in Las Vegas. She lives in Ardmore, Ala.
Other survivors include three sons, Jason, Matthew and Daniel ``Buck,'' all of Ardmore; his parents, Paul and Mary Guthrie, Linwood; two brothers, Bill, Kansas City, Mo., and Charles, Tonganoxie; six sisters, Pamela Wardenburg, Payson, Utah, Juanita Guthrie, Pisagh, Ala., Nancy Guthrie, Kristine Guthrie, Kim Guthrie and April Guthrie, all of Linwood; and two grandmothers.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
