Burglaries and thefts reported

-- A 1991 Honda Civic valued on a police report at $12,000 was taken between 8 p.m. Saturday and 10:30 p.m. Monday from the 700 block of Louisiana, police reported.

-- Stereo equipment and cassettes valued on a police report at $1,030 were taken between 11 p.m. Sunday and 6 a.m. Monday from a vehicle in the 700 block of Walnut, police reported.

-- A cellular telephone and tools valued on a police report at $1,219 were taken between midnight Sunday and 8 p.m. Monday from a vehicle in the 500 block of Minnesota, police reported.

-- A tool box and tools valued on a police report at $1,570 were taken between 9 p.m. Saturday and 2:30 a.m. Sunday from a vehicle in the 2900 block of West Sixth, police reported.

Police reports

-- Police arrested a 24-year-old Lawrence man early today on charges of impersonating a law enforcement officer and carrying a concealed weapon. A police spokesman said the man reportedly approached two other men about 11:30 p.m. Monday in the 800 block of Massachusetts while riding a mountain bicycle. He told them he was a police officer and showed them a handgun he was carrying in a holster, a police spokesman said. The victims left to call police and the suspect rode away, the spokesman said. Police later located the suspect, found a weapon he allegedly was carrying and arrested him. He was being held without bond in the Douglas County Jail.

Condition reports

-- Ruben Martinez, 20, Penitas, Tex., was listed in serious condition today at St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Wichita after being injured in an accident Sunday near Globe on U.S. Highway 56.

-- Jorge Fretes, 23, a Kansas University student from Paraguay, was listed in critical condition today at St. Francis Medical Center in Topeka, where he was taken after an accident Thursday on U.S. Highway 50 east of Florence.

-- Tim Mitts, 35, Rt. 3, was listed in good condition and was expected to be released today from St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, Mo., where he was taken after being injured Aug. 8 in a tractor accident.

-- Ronald D. Ball, 56, Princeton, was listed in serious condition today at the Kansas University Medical Center, Kansas City, Kan., where he was taken after an accident Wednesday afternoon at Midland Junction, north of Lawrence.

-- James Ortiz, 34, 927 E. 11th, was listed in fair condition today at the Kansas University Medical Center, Kansas City, Kan., where he was taken after a bicycle accident Aug. 4, about two miles south of Lawrence.

-- James A. Pilch II, 25, 1900 W. 31st, was listed in serious condition today at Kansas University Medical Center, Kansas City, Kan. He was injured in a motorcycle accident July 20 at 23rd and Naismith.

-- Michael Smith, 46, Lawrence, was listed in fair condition today at the Kansas University Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan., with injuries he suffered in a June 21 car accident on Kansas Highway 32.

-- Annie Bond, 74, McLouth, was listed in fair condition today at the Kansas University Medical Center, Kansas City, Kan., with injuries she suffered in an automobile accident July 27 on Kansas Highway 16 in Tonganoxie.

-- Orville Ray, 82, 1143 E. 1500 Road, was listed in fair condition today at Lawrence Memorial Hospital, where he was taken after being injured while riding a lawn mower Aug. 2 at his home.
