Local, state and national authorities are continuing to search for a man who is wanted for numerous robbery and theft charges in the region.
Henry Preston Hylton III, 36, Topeka, this week was included in the Kansas Bureau of Investigation's "Kansas Most Wanted" list.
Lawrence police have put up several wanted fliers with Hylton's picture at local banks, hotels and convenience stores, said police Detective Kevin Harmon.
Hylton "should be considered armed and dangerous," the fliers say.
Harmon said police continue to seek the public's help in locating Hylton, who is wanted for two local armed robberies.
He said police believe Hylton may have committed armed robberies July 5 at Godfather's Pizza, 711 W. 23rd, and July 6 at Wehner's Retail Liquor, 945 E. 23rd.
On July 6, a man armed with a handgun made off with $350 in cash after robbing the liquor store.
On July 5, a man made off with $363 in cash after an armed robbery at the restaurant.
Hylton has been arrested locally in the past on other charges, Harmon said.
In addition, he is wanted by the FBI for a bank robbery in Omaha, Neb., and by Johnson County authorities on charges of aggravated robbery and felony theft there.
"Somebody needs to give us a telephone call so we can find this guy," Harmon said.
Anyone with information may call Lawrence police at 841-7210, or the KBI at 1-800-KS-CRIME (1-800-572-7463).
Tips may be made anonymously, Harmon said.
