— Services for Lawrence "Tune" VanderPol were held here Friday with the Rev. Al Van Dellen officiating.

Mr. VanderPol died Tuesday, Aug. 3, 1993, at the Royal C. Johnson Veterans Hospital, where he had been since December 1992. He was born Jan. 26, 1925, in the family home near New Holland.

He attended country school, Corsica High School and Northern State Teachers College in Aberdeen.

In 1940, the family moved to Corsica, and in 1944 Mr. VanderPol enlisted in the Air Force. He was discharged in 1946.

He and Ardele Olson married Nov. 5, 1950, in Westhope, N.D. Mr. VanderPol lived in various locations until he returned to Corsica in 1983 to take over the family house-moving business.

He was a baptized member of the Christian Reformed Church and an active member of the Confederate Air Force.

Survivors include two sons, Terry, Sioux Falls, and Timothy, Lawrence, Kan.; two daughters, Tammy Mae Olson, Sioux Falls, and Laurie VanderPol-Hosek, Lawrence, Kan.; three brothers, Henry J. "Doc" and Rolland, both of Corsica, and Donald, Platte; two sisters, Dorothy VanderWerff, Modesto, Calif., and Leone DeBoer, Chamberlain; and seven grandchildren.
