Tonganoxie — Services for Robert Roy Pickens, 61, Tonganoxie, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Quisenberry Chapel in Tonganoxie, with the Rev. Ben Saathoff officiating. Burial will be in Hubbell Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Pickens died Monday, April 26, 1993, at Providence Medical Center, Kansas City, Kan.
He was born July 23, 1931, in Tonganoxie, the son of Robert and Mabel Dunn Pickens. He owned and operated Pickens Sawmill from 1968 to 1974, and was a construction laborer.
His wife, Helen M. Pickens, survives.
Other survivors include four sons, David and Kenneth, Paola, Steven, Tonganoxie, and Robert Jr., Kansas City, Kan.; two daughters, Diana Lee Wenger, Farmington, Iowa, and Kathy Ann Clark, Norman Park, Ga.; three brothers, Larry, of Russell, Perry, of Wellington, and Chester, McLouth; a sister, Roberta Miller, McLouth; three half-sisters, Carrie Johnson, McLouth, Carla Pickens, McLouth, and Margie Godfrey, Wamego; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
