— Services for Thomas E. Hunt Sr., 70, Oskaloosa, will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Calvary Baptist Church in Valley Falls with the Rev. Jon Boyd officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant View Cemetery in Oskaloosa.

Mr. Hunt died Thursday, Sept. 17, 1992, at St. Francis Hospital in Topeka.

He was born Dec. 6, 1921, at Mt. Vernon, Mo., to Oness C. and Lynna Rigsby Hunt. He lived in Kansas City, Kan., for many years, moving to Oskaloosa in 1955. He worked for General Electric Supply Corp. in Kansas City, Mo., for several years and later worked at Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. in Topeka for 29 years before retiring in 1984.

Mr. Hunt was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Valley Falls and the Rubber Workers Union Local No. 307 in Topeka.

He married Gladys Petitt on Aug. 5, 1950, in Kansas City, Mo. She survives of the home. A daughter, Marcia Lynn Hunt, died Jan. 2, 1980.

Other survivors include two sons, Thomas E. Jr., Kansas City, Mo., and Garry Copeland, Gravois Mills, Mo.; three daughters, Diana Goeden, Berryton, Mary Ann Hunt, Topeka, and Caren Crabtree, Gravois Mills, Mo.; three brothers, Paul and Clifford, both of Kansas City, Kan., and Robert, Overland Park; two sisters, Vera Eden, Kansas City, Kan., and Virginia Wahlstrom, Shawnee; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to the Oskaloosa Public Library, in care of the Hampton-Barrett Funeral Home, P.O. Box 176, Oskaloosa 66066.

The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
