Services for George L. "Tim" Brooks, 75, Lawrence, will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary with the Rev. Charles Gilmore officiating.
Mr. Brooks died Thursday, Sept. 17, 1992, at his home.
He was born July 24, 1917, in Lawrence, the son of Lewis and Florence Woody Brooks. He had lived in Lawrence most of his life.
Mr. Brooks was a retired self-employed painting contractor. He also had worked at the Kansas University housing department.
Mr. Brooks retired July 17, 1980.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Lawrence.
Mr. Brooks married Helen Bateson on Aug. 26, 1975, at Lawrence. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include three sons, Richard, of Lawrence, Michael, of Omaha, Neb., and Blair, of Chicago; a brother, Gaylord Brooks, St. Petersburg, Fla.; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to the Hospice of Douglas County or to the American Cancer Society. Memorials may be sent in care of the mortuary.
