Oskaloosa — Services for Harold E. Elkinton, 80, McLouth, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Oskaloosa United Methodist Church. Burial will be here at Pleasant View Cemetery.
Mr. Elkinton died Tuesday, Oct. 6, 1992.
He was born Sept. 14, 1912, in Ottawa, the son of Oscar and Helen McCullough Elkinton. He lived in the Oskaloosa and McLouth communities for most of his life.
He was a farmer and worked at Kansas University from 1965 to 1978. He also was a member of the Oskaloosa United Methodist Church.
He married Dorothy M. Spielman on April 6, 1940, in Topeka. She died in 1991.
Survivors include three sons, Eldon, Gardner, and Duane and Larry, both of Oskaloosa; three daughters, Marlene Wegner, Parsons, and Joyce Fair and Marjorie Reed, both of McLouth; a brother, Clarence, Lawrence; and 15 grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to the Oskaloosa United Methodist Church.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Hampton-Barrett Funeral Home, Oskaloosa.
