The United Way of Douglas County's 1992-93 campaign drive has garnered $466,233 43 percent of the $1,076,928 goal as of today, the campaign drive chair said.
Diane Mullens, chair of the 1992-93 drive, said she was "ecstatic" about the total so far.
"We are 40 percent of the way through the drive and 43 percent of the total has been raised, so we are tracking right on target," she said.
The drive, which officially kicked off Sept. 14, runs through Oct. 30.
The drive is being conducted in 12 divisions, including business and industry, city and county governments and area towns.
The divisions, amounts raised so far and percent of their goals are: business and industry, $173,697, 29.4 percent; professionals, $16,763, 34 percent; Kansas University, $92,576, 61 percent; residential, $76,194, 62 percent; Lawrence Memorial Hospital, $25,314, 92 percent; city government, $23,684, 93 percent; county government, $20,994, 109 percent; Lawrence public schools, $30,531, 89 percent; Eudora, $1,485, 5 percent; Lecompton, $710, 29 percent; and Baldwin, $4,285, 62 percent.
The combined federal campaign division has started its drive, but has not yet reported results, Mullens said.
