Travis Green doesn't need much extra motivation to play football, but Green, a senior lineman for Lawrence High, said it didn't hurt to have his father, Jerry, and mother, Nancy, in Haskell Stadium Friday night.
"I always want to play well," Travis Green said. "But having my parents there did give me a little extra incentive."
Jerry Green is the head basketball coach at the University of Oregon. He previously was an assistant under Kansas coach Roy Williams.
Travis decided to stay for his senior year at LHS and is living with friends of the family while his parents both live in Eugene, Ore.
"He's seen me on tape," Travis said of his father, "but this is the first, and probably last, game he'll see me live."
