County residents granted new four-year terms to all three Douglas County's district judges who faced retention votes Tuesday.
District Judges James Paddock, Ralph M. King Jr. and Mike Malone were retained by wide margins in the general election. District Judge Jean Shepherd was retained in 1990.
King received 25,279 "yes" votes to 7,879 "no" votes, or 76 to 24 percent.
Paddock was retained by an identical percentage, receiving 25,462 "yes" votes to 8,245 "no" votes.
Malone received the largest number of "yes" votes 26,861 and got 7,145 "no" votes. He was retained by a 79 to 21 percent margin.
In addition, county voters opted to retain four Kansas Supreme Court and Kansas Court of Appeals judges.
