Perry Services for Roy E. Dent, 73, McLouth, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Perry United Methodist Church with the Rev. Barbara Moore officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Ridge Cemetery in Perry, where Perry Post No. 142 of the American Legion will conduct graveside services.
Mr. Dent died Tuesday, May 19, 1992, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
He was born Aug. 30, 1918, in Linwood, to Edward and Eva Wilson Dent. He lived in Perry since 1957 and moved to Lake Dabinawa in rural McLouth in 1984.
Mr. Dent worked as a depot agent for the Union Pacific Railroad from 1936 until his retirement in 1980. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was a member of Perry United Methodist Church, Perry Post No. 142 of the American Legion, Perry Lodge No. 415 AF&AM and Eagles Lodge No. 309 in Lawrence.
He married Garnette Miller on Sept. 20, 1942, in Topeka. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include a daughter, Royce Carol Dent, Topeka; a son, Donald Eugene Dent, Adak, Alaska; and four grandsons.
The family will receive friends from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the Hampton-Barrett Funeral Home in Oskaloosa. The family suggests memorials to the Perry United Methodist Church.
