Vinland community volunteers will begin working at 9 a.m. Saturday to prepare the fairgrounds exhibit building for the annual whole-hog sausage and pancake supper.
The supper, a fund-raiser to benefit the Vinland Fair, is scheduled to be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. March 21 in the heated exhibit building at the Vinland Fairgrounds, about 10 miles southeast of Lawrence on Douglas County Road 1055.
Volunteers and fair board members and their families prepare and serve the supper, which will include animal-shaped pancakes for youngsters. The sausage comes from hogs raised locally and processed at an area butcher shop.
The Vinland Fair is scheduled for Aug. 20-22.
