Law enforcement report Burglaries and thefts reported
Stereo equipment, seven football helmets and miscellaneous items, valued together on a police report at $4,802, were taken between 6:15 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. Wednesday from a residence in the 1000 block of East 24th.
The Kansas Highway Patrol responded to an injury accident about 9:30 a.m. today south of Lawrence on U.S. Highway 59. Few details were available about the accident, but the Douglas County Ambulance Service took two people to Lawrence Memorial Hospital. Robin Lynch, 14, Lawrence, suffered head injuries in the accident and was listed in fair condition at LMH late this morning. Catherine Anderson, 40, Ottawa, was treated at LMH and released.
Thomas Harvey, 79, 2401 W. 25th, remained in fair condition this morning at Lawrence Memorial Hospital, where he was taken Saturday after a car-bicycle collision on Clinton Parkway at the intersection of Crestline Drive.
District court Criminal case proceedings
A trial will be scheduled during an April 10 hearing for Dragan "Drag" Davidovic, 23, Lawrence, who faces a misdemeanor theft charge in connection with a November theft in a locker room at Kansas University's Allen Fieldhouse. Kansas University police reported that sports equipment and personal items belonging to Central Missouri State University players were taken while the team was playing the Jayhawks. The items were valued together at $14,000. Nicole Emrick, a Kansas University student, has been charged with 12 counts of felony theft in connection with the incident. She faces a preliminary hearing March 26.
A trial was scheduled for March 30 during a hearing Thursday for Diann L. Estes, Wichita, who has been charged with two felony counts of forgery. She allegedly forged checks Jan. 25 at the Kansas Furniture Outlet and at U-Haul Co.
A trial was scheduled for April 27 during a hearing this morning for a 41-year-old Lawrence man charged with a felony count of rape. The man is accused of raping a Topeka woman Feb. 26 in a car parked at a Lawrence apartment complex. The woman was eight months pregnant at the time of the alleged attack. The man remains in the Douglas County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bond.
A trial has been scheduled for April 20 for Jesus Dlelo, 28, El Paso, Tex., who is charged with a felony count of theft alleging he and another man stole a car in Kansas City, Mo., and drove it to Lawrence on Jan. 25. Dlelo and the other man, Rudy Quintana, 22, Kansas City, Kan., who also is charged with a felony count of theft, both pleaded not guilty to the charges during a hearing this morning. A trial date for Quintana will be scheduled April 10th.
