Jefferson County officials resumed their search at 6:30 a.m. today for the body of a 20-year-old Leavenworth County woman presumed drowned at Perry Lake.
The woman reportedly fell out of a boat at about 6:30 p.m. Saturday near the Big Slough boat ramp at the lake. Jefferson County Sheriff's officers searching the lake received assistance from the county dive-rescue team, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Kansas Wildlife and Parks and the Jefferson County Ambulance Service.
They searched until 10:30 p.m. Saturday, and from 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Sunday with the help of U.S. Coast Guard officials and volunteers.
The sheriff's office hasn't released the name of the woman.
