Services for John "Jack" E. Coyler Jr., 60, Lawrence, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Rumsey Funeral Home with the Rev. Carl Walker officiating.
Mr. Coyler died Tuesday, June 9, 1992, at Kansas University Medical Center, Kansas City, Kan.
He was born Aug. 1, 1931, in Cherokee, to John Edgar Sr. and Ethel Irene Bolick Colyer. He attended elementary school in Cherokee and graduated from Crawford County High School in 1949. He attended Pittsburg State Teachers College for two years and graduated from Washburn University in 1986.
Mr. Coyler was a founding member and clinical director of DCCCA, a regional drug prevention, intervention and treatment facility. He also was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, National Rifle Assn. and Ducks Unlimited.
He married Rose Marie Naccarato on June 7, 1952, in Crawford County. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include two sons, John M., Pittsburg, and Gregg A., Carthage, Mo.; a daughter, Katherine S. Wright, Lawrence; and six grandchildren.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and until service time Saturday at the funeral home. The family will meet with friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. A reception will be held following the service at the DCCCA Center, 3312 Clinton Pkwy.
The family suggests memorials to the National Rifle Assn. Legislative Action.
