Graveside services for Rex P. Hicks, 69, Overbrook, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Maple Grove Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by American Legion Dorsey-Liberty Post 14.
Mr. Hicks died Sunday, May 31, 1992, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, in Topeka.
He was born May 19, 1923, in Lawrence, the son of Perry L. Hicks and Kathryn Odell Carter. He graduated from Lawrence Memorial High School in 1941.
Mr. Hicks served in the Army during World War II. He received a medical discharge, and was a disabled veteran.
Mr. Hicks was a resident of Wadsworth Veterans Center in Leavenworth for 18 years, and resided in Brookside Manor Nursing Home, Overbrook, until his death.
He was a member of North Lawrence Christian Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Cathie Pearson, Lawrence; a brother, Ray Hicks, Portland, Ore.; and two sisters, Wilma Davis and Meldean Pearson, both of Lawrence.
Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Rumsey Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
