A former Douglas County employee injured last year in a traffic accident while working on a county road has filed suit in District Court against the man who allegedly drove the vehicle that caused the injury and the company the driver worked for.

Mylus O'Neal, Lawrence, filed the suit against Bobby G. Collins Jr., Baldwin, and Thomas R. Christian, doing business as Christian Construction Co. In the suit, O'Neal claimed he was raking asphalt on July 12, 1991, on County Road 1061 in eastern Douglas County when a truck driven by Collins struck the rake. O'Neal asserted that the force of the blow seriously injured his left arm and shoulder.

O'Neal claims that Collins was negligent in his driving through the construction area. O'Neal also claims he suffered severe and permanent injury, pain and suffering, extensive medical bills and lost wages from the accident. He is seeking more than $50,000 in his suit.
