Services for George Edward Kratt Jr., 76, Lawrence, will be at 7 p.m. Saturday at Rumsey Funeral Home. The Rev. Jonathan A. Knight will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Kratt died today, Jan. 31, 1992, at his home.
He was born Feb. 8, 1915, in the Aspinwall borough of Pittsburgh, the son of George Edward and Josephine Margaret Humbert Kratt.
He grew up in the Aspinwall and McCandless boroughs of Pittsburgh and graduated from high school there. He also attended the Pittsburgh Academy business school.
Mr. Kratt worked for oil companies in Texas and Aruba before serving in World War II as an Army Air Force cryptographer in Sicily and Italy.
He later worked for Airco Gas Products in Pittsburgh and Butler, Pa., as a production operator. He retired in 1981. He moved to Lawrence in 1988 from Pittsburgh.
A member of the Northmont United Presbyterian Church in Pittsburgh, he married Mildred Jane Snellbacher on Nov. 8, 1939, in Winchester, Va. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include a son, Paul George Kratt, Winchester, Va.; a daughter, Kathleen Neeley, Lawrence; two sisters, Helen Peters, Rochester, Pa., and Margaret Wilson, Orlando, Fla.; and two grandchildren.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home, where the family will meet with friends from 6 p.m. until service time Saturday.
