Services for Floyd Eugene Smith, 57, Tonganoxie, will be 11 a.m. Monday at Quisenberry Chapel in Tonganoxie. Burial will be in Hubbel Hill Cemetery in Tonganoxie. The Revs. Ben Saathoff and Herman Karriker will officiate.
Mr. Smith died Thursday, Jan. 30, 1992, at Truman Medical Center in Kansas City, Mo., after a long illness.
He was born April 4, 1934, in Rolla, Mo., the son of Lewis Smith and Grace Perry.
He retired in 1985 as a detective with the Kansas City, Kan., police department.
A member of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge No. 4 of Kansas City, Kan., Mr. Smith moved to Tonganoxie in 1982 from Kansas City.
He married Rose Moore on Oct. 30, 1951, in Kansas City. She survives, of the home.
Other survivors include a son, Jesse, Tonganoxie; a daughter, Doris Young, Kansas City, Kan.; a brother, Jesse Smith, Bolivar, Mo.; and three grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday at Quisenberry Funeral Home, which is handling arrangements.
