— Services for E. Fern Vanderpool, 87, Ozawkie, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Ozawkie United Methodist Church with the Rev. Larry Fry officiating. Burial will be in Ozawkie Cemetery.

Mrs. Vanderpool died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 1992, in a Topeka nursing home.

She was born Jan. 16, 1905, at Ozawkie, the daughter of Edward and Rosetta Puderbaugh Brunton. She lived in Ozawkie all of her life. She was a graduate of Ozawkie High School and Washburn University, and she taught in Ozawkie area schools for 45 years before she retired in 1971. After retiring, she joined her husband and son in building the Village Greens Golf Course west of Ozawkie.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Mount Pleasant Grange, both of Ozawkie, the Alpha Delta Kappa sorority, the Kansas National Education Assn. and the National Education Assn.

She married Martin Vanderpool on April 4, 1925, in Oskaloosa. He died Feb. 26, 1979.

Survivors include a son, Meril Vanderpool, Ozawkie, and a brother, Wayne Brunton, Raytown, Mo.

Friends may call from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Hampton-Barrett Funeral Home in Oskaloosa.
